Off of the beaten path you will find
our southwest Colorado town is far from traffic congestion like many of Colorado's
ski areas located along interstates or major population areas. The historic town
of Crested Butte is perhaps the friendliest, most captivating town in the Rockies.
Over a hundred years of history is apparent as you walk down Elk Avenue. Our town
is not only known for the amazing skiing and winter activities, but also the summer
months are a hit with visitors and locals alike. Crested Butte is on the map for
being named the Wild Flower Capital of Colorado and having the National Mountain
Bike Hall of Fame. There are numerous activities to be found during the warm weather
months from hiking, white water rafting, horse back riding and many festivals.
Crested Butte is truly "Colorado's last Great Ski Town." From world class skiing
and snowboarding at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and cross country skiing on
over 30 kilometers of well groomed trails at the Crested Butte Nordic Center (both
opening on November 19, 2005) to sleigh ride dinners under the stars and moonlight
snow shoe tours, we offer something for everyone. Ever try dog sledding or snowmobiling?
If you're still looking for a sense of adventure try torch lit skiing, ice climbing,
or back country competitions.
Satisfy your appetite at one
of our fine restaurants. We are known for having more fine restaurants per capita
than any other town in the U.S. (According to the Colorado Magazine). Sample the
thriving nightlife. Our little mountain town comes alive after hours - pubs, clubs,
and breweries are full of the mountain spirit! Take advantage of the free ski
town shuttle system to get around.
Getting here is easy with
multiple, daily non-stop jet flights on United from Denver and we have direct

a scenic 4 hour drive from the Denver International Airport, and a short 3 hour
drive of beautiful Colorado peaks and valleys from Colorado Springs.
